Paul & Jeanne's Timeline 2004

December
–Paul and Jeanne enjoy a lovely Christmas in Camarillo, California with lots of family. Still no I600-A approval.

November 15–We make the trip to the new Homeland Security office in Tacoma on a cold and rainy (very early) Monday morning. In less than an hour we are fingerprinted and out of there!

November–Paul and Jeanne decide on a name: Chloe Simone

November 1–We receive the USCIS letter to process our I600-A form and fingerprinting appointment, set for November 15, 2004

October 23–Paul and Jeanne attend an all-day, very informative, New Hope adoption orientation. Kathy, Patty, and Kim do a fabulous job of relating their own stories as well as realistic experiences of adoptions. We meet other families who have adopted from New Hope and their daughters and exchange questions and answers with them. New Hope sends us off with a large binder of information–Jeanne reads the entire binder in two days. :-

October 20–The Paper Chase is DONE–we have sent our dossier paperwork to our agency, New Hope!

September 28–Jeanne's birthday! Joan takes Jeanne out to lunch and then on a shopping spree to the local baby thrift store, LittleLams, and buys her the first baby outfit! They are ridiculously cute.

September 22–Our home study is complete and our wonderful social worker, Amalea, has sent it to USCIS.

June through September–Home study by our fabulous social worker Amalea.

May 18–Jeanne & Paul get their physicals from Dr. Coghlan's office in Seattle. (Immunizations to come later, probably just before 2005 travel).

April 5–We send in our formal application (among other paperwork) to New Hope to initiate the international adoption process.
